Brenna's First Day of Kindergarten
Yesterday was Brenna's first day at Kindergarten. She did just fine and was very excited to finally be able to go to school. Sarah was the one who had a really hard time with it- first she wanted to stay and play as there was a kitchen set in one corner of the classroom and the kids were reading books. When I finally convinced her it was time to leave she started calling for Brenna to come too. I got her home without trouble, thankfully, but when we arrived at the front door she got upset with me because I said we couldn't go back to get Brenna right away. Today went a little more smoothly as Sarah didn't get quite so upset at me for coming home without her sister. She decided at 10A though that it was time to go get Brenna and just ignored me when I told her it was another 45 minutes before we could leave to go get her. She sat in the stroller in front of the door the whole time until I finally put on my shoes and pushed her out the door LOL I think by the end of the week that she will have the new routine figured out.
There isn't enough room in the gym for all of the kids, so the 4th and 5th graders take turns waiting outside on the backside of the school. The 5th graders are starting outside this month. Here's Carissa waiting near the school wall.
and here is Beth waiting with her new friend- who also happens to be a twin.
and a layout with a few more pictures from Brenna's first day.

journaling: Brenna finally had her first day of school on August 11, 2008. She was so excited to finally be able to go to kindergarten. She had a great first day! Sarah was the one who took her being gone the hardest. She didn't want to leave Brenna at school and was very anxious to have her home again at lunch time.
